OctoBUNDTfest:  Baking with Beer AND Fall Flavors

This class was featured in the October 2011 AAA Westways Magazine, and we're so thankful for the Shout out!


Here's how are classes work:

Upon arrival, students will receive their recipe packets and an overview of the underlying food science behind the recipes, before breaking into small teams to make the following recipes from Owner/Chef Chrysta Wilson's cookbook and recipe files:

--Brown Ale Cake and Brown Ale Glaze

--Cinnamon Orange Cake with Vanilla Bean Buttercream

--Pumpkin and Ale Bread Pudding with a Beer Caramel Cream Sauce

--Chocolate Stout Cake with Chocolate Buttercream

 

Students will also learn to frost and decorate their cakes using simple piping techniques and "finish" their desserts . 

Students will then dive in to taste their creations with a cold beer, if they choose, at the end of the class.


Class must have at least 8 RSVPs by Thursday, October 20th 9am, or the class will be cancelled.  If class is cancelled, a full refund will be given.

 

Classes are $65 for the 2.5 hour class. Participants should be 18+ over.

 

About Chef Chrysta Wilson:

Affectionately dubbed "The Bundt Babe," for her lifelong love of Bundt cake, Chrysta started Kiss My Bundt Bakery in Los Angeles in 2005 and has since won the hearts of many loyal fans. Chrysta will show you how to perfectly prepare some of her favorite recipes from her book Kiss My Bundt, Recipes from an Award Winning Bakery.

Kiss My Bundt Bakery is a Los Angeles-based botique bakeshop that specializes in delicious, made-from-scratch Bundt cakes and Southern-inspired confections.

In March 2009, the Kiss My Bundt Baking Academy was born to teach students how to bake cakes and frostings from scratch.  By its one year anniversary Chrysta and her Chefs had taught over 1,000 students throughout the Los Angeles Area.

Students learn food science, food lore/history, as well as how to bake incredible cakes, simply from scratch.

The Kiss My Bundt Cookbook authored by Bakery owner and Chef Chrysta Wilson continues to be integral to the Baking Classes.
